This is the most underrated Chinese restaurant in Bay area. Authentic and fantastic food made by top chef, not like other places where they might offer you something from supermarket or online sale, with a rather low key way of promoting its own reputation. The owners are quite friendly, always willing to adjust to your appetite and offer you the best. Give it a try if you wanna know how delicious real Chinese food is!
New Dumping is my No.1 to go restaurant in the area. Besides absolutely good dumplings, I would also recommend the noodles. The noodles are “Al dente”, the sauces are the best in the area, comparable to my mom’s home cooking. Their flavor is stable and delicious.
Super cute dumpling place in El Cerrito. Highly recommend the cold cucumber and fungus salad. Dumplings are all made fresh in house and taste like it. Our favorite was chicken and mushroom. Wonton soup broth was also excellent. Lots of pork dishes so not veggie friendly except for the appetizers and one veggie dumpling option
Small dining area. But the food is SO FRESH! Dumplings were perfectly done and well balanced.
Dumplings were very good! Large portion size — 14 dumplings per order. We wish we could order smaller portion sizes so we could try more. But the ones we tasted were very fresh!
Pickled cucumber and black fungus was very refreshing, and pancakes were nice and crispy. Dumplings were good. Proprietor was very spirited in getting all the flies with his electric swatter.
What's unique about this dumpling place is that the food is clean and beautifully made. Not a fancy decorating or anything, but the food is properly treated so it looks beautiful: no grease, no tough pieces, no residues on top of the soup. Even the fried dishes are so light. Given the bib gourmand, this place is not busy and it is definitely approachable. I would love to eat here again.
We were craving dumplings and remembered we had been here before, so we decided to try some different flavors. We ordered the Green Chive with shrimp and porl dumplings and Sweet corn with Chicken dumplings. Each order came with 14 dumplings, and all of them were delicious. The wrappers were cooked to the right texture, not too thick, but not too thin that they didn't break when picked up with chopsticks. The fillings were well seasoned and had a comforting, home-cooked feel, making them a great option for a quick meal. I even bought three bags of frozen dumplings to take home. Each bag comes with 18 dumplings, which is a really good value. Highly recommended!
Consistently good dumplings every time we come here. Get the chive pancakes and either of their noodle dishes. Super joog too.
I was craving soup and going New Dumpling! It is a hidden gem in my eyes. Great food that was fast, filling, and soothing to my soul. I ordered the Green Chive Pockets and they were filled with chives and eggs, so good, but a little greasy. Hot & Sour Soup and that was really tasty and warned me up. Green Chive with Shrimp & Pork Dumplings which were very good and I finished very quickly. Last but not least was the Beef Noodle Soup and the soup was very tasty in addition to the noodles and beef. Like I said, everything was really tasty and for the price and speed it is worth it. This is a very small restaurant with a maximum occupancy of 24. It's fairly quiet, so don't expect a lot of noise. I highly recommend this place and I'll be returning!
